Governor Samuel Ortom has reiterated the commitment of his administration in the development of the youth through entrepreneurship for a better future.

The Benue State Governor Stated this during the youth entrepreneurship workshop organized by the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi held at Pope John Paul the (II) Pastoral Centre, Makurdi.

Represented by the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Solid Minerals, Honourable Bernard Unenge says his administration is quite aware of the challenges being faced by the youth, hence the need for a concerted effort in finding solution to the issues.

He added that his government would continue to put in place policies and programmes that are of direct benefit to the Benue youth.

The Governor urged the youth not to allow themselves to be used by selfish politicians, especially during the forthcoming coming general elections, stressing that they should rather engage in meaningful ventures to better the society.

He assured Benue People that his commitment in the protection of lives and property remain a top priority of his administration.

In an address, the Bishop of Catholic Diocese, Makurdi, Most Reverend Wilfred Anagbe charged the youth to adopt creative ways of boasting their standard of living by channeling their time and energy into self reliant ventures.

He commended the Benue State Government for its support in the development of the youth.

On his part, the lead Speaker of the workshop, Mr Michael Magagi urged the youth to make use of every available opportunity at their disposal to adequately equipped themselves for business and leadership opportunities.

Speaking, Chancellor of the Diocese, Very Reverend Father, Jude Ortese said the workshop is a deliberate effort by the Makurdi Diocese to build capacity in the youth to be self sufficient in managing their businesses.
